Function
After loosening the locking nut C-clamp connection can be oppened by swiveling upper connecting chain elements to the right and left.
Assemblies, flange halfes, etc., previously connected using the connecting clamps can be easily disassembled / opened / moved apart / or freely repositioned providing
quick access for cleaning and/or maintenance which can significantly reduce setup time.
When re-assembling, the 3-chain design offers the considerable advantage that, compared to more complex designs, each side element can be folded against the components to be re-connected without the elements slipping down again, which would be the case with 4- or 5-chain designs. This allows for even more optimized and user-friendly handling, especially when the components are in hot temperatured condition and already difficult to handle.
HelCon – Standard C-Clamps are available in 10mm size increments based on nominal diameter (e.g. _DN 100, DN 110, DN 120 etc.) in size range between DN 50 and DN 400 at max. medium pressure 350 bar at max. temperature 350 C.
HelCon connecting C-clamps are particularly practical and cost-effective for all wedge flange
connections, which require custom design and adaptation to the peripheral components being connected. This standardized connecting clamp offers
a cost advantage and provides planning certainty in advance when designing the components to be connected.
From standard size DN 200 upwards the closure chain elements are provided with threaded holes for the potential installation of handles for better and easier use.
The central chain element is provided with a threaded hole – for potential attachment to one flange / tool half (e.g., flange half), so that the connecting clamp remains on that part while opening C-clamp – for better handling.
Special sizes and designs are also available upon request (e.g. replacements for existing tension chains and components).
